Data protection: producer register
Producers fulfil their producer responsibility for tyres in Finland through Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd.
Through Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd, its members can arrange the collection and recycling of their products. Tyre recycling in Finland is governed by the Waste Act. In 1996, the same year that tyre collection operations began, the Finnish Government issued its first decree on the recovery and treatment of end-of-life tyres.
The data in the register is used only in ways that are necessary for allocating producer responsibility obligations and carrying out official supervision.
Data protection: collection point register
The register contains the contact details of Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd’s tyre collection points.
As an approved producer organisation, Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd is responsible under the law for arranging the separate collection and recovery of end-of-life tyres. To fulfil its statutory collection obligations, Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd has organised a nationwide tyre collection system. The nationwide collection system means collection from all contracted retail outlets selling tyres and from other collection points in Finland, and delivery of the tyres for recycling.
Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd serves collection points by arranging collection for tyres gathered into appropriate batches.
The personal data in the collection point register is used only for purposes that are necessary for fulfilling Finnish Tyre Recycling Ltd’s statutory collection obligation, such as carrying out collection tasks and providing instructions.
