Recycled Metal

A typical passenger car tyre weighs around 8 kg on average. It contains approximately 400 grams of metal, which is used as a reinforcing structure in the tyre carcass.

In the recycled raw material refining process, we clean the rubber compound of metal through a multi-stage process to a purity level of 99 per cent. We separate the remaining metal and supply it for the production of recycled metal.

In addition to rubber and metal, a tyre also contains around 400 grams of reinforcing fibres. Our aim is to refine the entire tyre into recycled raw material. At present, the fibres are recovered as energy, but together with our network of partners, we are continuously looking for new forms of reuse and business ideas for utilising the fibre as well.
