How tyres get a new life

When a customer buys new tyres from a tyre shop, they pay a tyre recycling fee. In 2026, it is only EUR 2.01 per passenger car tyre. In Finland, every set of tyres is recovered as recycled material for frisbees, shoe soles and rubber products, all for the price of a coffee and a pastry!

In Finland, every tyre gets a new purpose as a circular economy material

When tyres reach the end of their life and enter our recycling system, we collect them from our approximately 4,000 collection points to our regional terminals or transport them directly for further processing to our circular economy facility in the municipality of Loppi. We sort and process tyres according to their properties for further use.

Together with our partners, we continuously develop better methods for using tyre material as a raw material in the circular economy. In this way, we can reduce the need for virgin raw materials while also creating jobs in Finland.
