Tyre recycling in Finland is funded by a recycling fee, which is paid when new tyres are purchased. Thus it is possible for the consumers to bring their used tyres to their local tyre-dealers free of charge. This way the fee falls on the actual user of tyres instead of the whole population paying for the costs in the form of taxation, for example.
